Edward John Gray

Edward John Gray Of Counsel

Edward John Gray has served as Of Counsel to Sprott Newsom Quattlebaum Messenger since 2017, focusing his practice on family law. When he started his legal career, he excelled in the employment law field where his business background and multinational experience helped provide a unique perspective on labor employment law in the United States. He gradually aspired to have a greater impact on individual lives, inspiring a move to incorporate family law into his legal career. Mr. Gray is admitted to practice in all Texas state courts, as well as the United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Texas.

Mr. Gray’s approach to the practice of law is extremely client focused. He believes the ability to understand the client’s goals and clearly explain how to achieve them is crucial to supplying the reassurance everyone needs during the legal process. His client-centered style is particularly effective in the family law arena where the issues are extremely personal. He maintains the mindset that his representation is all about the client and making them feel comfortable. Obtaining a client’s trust and taking the time to be honest with them in explaining the legal aspects of their situation helps them understand what’s going on.

Mr. Gray graduated from University of Salford in England with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies, with honors. After moving to the United States, he graduated from the University of Houston Clearlake with Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, with honors. He then decided to pursue a long-held dream to study law and earned his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center.

He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Houston Trial Lawyers Association. Outside of work, he plays the piano, plays sports, and enjoys reading, history, and writing.
